Spring Adds a New Beauty to Life...


Spring has finally broken out, and nature has committed to its renewal once more. The trees once more stretch their limbs, delicate buds transforming yet again to a vibrant green. Welcome back everyone, I'm glad to finally return to the world of Spring. It is such a fleeting time in our weather cycle here in MN, and reflecting through the year I feel as though we all fail to take advantage of the beauty the world brings when coming anew. Today, I want to brush up on some of the reasons I love Springtime, and why I think more people should take advantage of capturing their precious moments when Spring comes to call.


1 | Spring is a Photographers Dream

Now listen, each and every season is a photographers dream in some way, but Spring is special! You may be wondering, what makes this season stick out from all the others? It may feel similar at times, or like a cooler version of summertime, but let me tell you it's unique in many ways.

  • Natural Lighting: When outside, Springs sunlight is far different than any other season. The sun is bright, but soft, far less harsh than it is in the Summer.
  • Dynamic Weather: Rolling clouds, misty mornings, clear blue skies... you name it, it's found in Spring. All different weather patterns during the season create a very specific ambiance and creates so many different moods to be explored
  • Blooming World: Everything comes back to life. The greenery is new, flowers bloom, and trees are budding. These features add a variety of unique texture and color, making each and every shot feel alive.

Now, my heart will always focus on the scenes you can capture come Spring, so here are a variety of ideas and things to look for when planning your next session!

  • Weddings and Engagements: Spring is a very common time for outdoor celebrations to begin revving back up. If you're looking for a beautiful time to seal the deal with a loved one, Spring can add a magical charm to those photos you need captured
  • Golden Hour: The return of golden hour, jump for joy~! Sunrise and Sunset will both provide a beautiful golden glow, with pastel spring skies and a gentle breeze. Don't miss out!
  • Portraits in Blooms: Fields of flowers are some of the most gorgeous places to photograph, with their unique colors and lovely aura. This is the key time to find a dreamy natural backdrop.
